关于留学生生态修复理论与技术课程调整的通知

原定于8-17周开始的“生态修复理论与技术(课程编号2015HJ06-01)”课程因外教签证等问题需略作调整,请各位同学根据自己的课程时间,尽量参与,调整后课程安排包括两个阶段:

第一阶段:外教授课阶段。时间:四月1718192023日,下午200-500,地点:水利馆301,课程主题如下:

Day 1: The freshwater to marine continuum: what is it, how does it function and what are their roles in hydrologic and biogeochemical cycles?

Day 2: Nutrient cycling in aquatic ecosystems: Sources, sinks and transformations of nutrients.

Day 3: Linking nutrient inputs and other physical-chemical factors to water quality and habitat condition

Day 4: Human vs. Climatic impacts on aquatic ecosystems:Management issues and challenges.

Day 5: Scaling up:Using biological and other indicators to examine habitat, ecosystem and regional ecological condition and change in freshwater, estuarine and coastal systems.

第二阶段:主讲教师授课阶段。13-17周:第五大节(闻天馆412)

  

外教简介:

Hans W. Paerl是美国北卡大学教堂山分校海洋研究所的柯南教授,长期研究微生物调控的营养盐循环、初级生产力动力学、有害蓝藻水华的环境控制措施和管理;人类活动和气候变化对内陆和海湾水体水质和可持续发展的影响。目前在国际主流期刊发表文章250多篇,在NatureScience上发表论文4篇以上, 另外在PNAS, PlosOne, Limnology and Oceanography, Bioscience, Environmental Management等著名期刊上发表论文多篇。担任期刊《Estuaries and Coasts》编辑;《Limnology and Oceanography》副主编;《Environmental microbiology》编委等。2003年获得美国海洋与湖沼学会Hatchinson奖,美国河口与海洋联合会2011年度Odum终身成就奖等。

 

The class schedulefor“Theory and Technology of Bioremediation” was adjusted due to the visa issue of foreign teacher. Please participate in the course as much as possible based on your own schedule.The detailed adjustment is shown as follows:

  

The First Stage: The teaching stage of foreign teacher.Time: The 2:00-5:00pm, 17-23, April (except weekend). Place: Room 301, Shuiliguan Building (水利馆301), HohaiUniversity.

The course topics include:

The SecondStage: The teaching stage of Chinese teacher. 10-12 section, 13-17 Week (闻天馆412).

Instruction of the foreign teacher:

Hans W. Paerl is Kenan Professor of Marine and Environmental Sciences, at the UNC-Chapel Hill Institute of Marine Sciences, Morehead City. His research includes: microbially-mediated nutrient cycling and primary production dynamics of aquatic ecosystems, environmental controls of harmful algal blooms, and assessing the causes and consequences of man-made and climatic (storms, floods) nutrient enrichment and hydrologic alterations of inland, estuarine and coastal waters. He has more than 250 publications, included 4 papers in Nature and Science.He has been currently appointed as the editor ofEstuaries and Coasts, the associate editor of Limnology and Oceanographyand the editor broad ofEnvironmental microbiologyetc.
